Summary
This position is responsible for the fabrication of structural panels from light gauge steel framing for use on the exterior envelope of buildings or the interiors of buildings. The position requires a thorough understanding of light gauge framing, roll forming of light gauge steel and the relevant engineering aspects
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for ensuring that the policies, procedures, and organization capabilities are in place to provide best in class manufacturing, and operations capabilities within ELRO Manufacturing ("ELRO"). They hold responsibility for the management of manufacturing project/s within defined profitability and timing parameters and for completing the company's projects to the satisfaction of the clients
Pre-Production Activity
-- Assigns Supervisors, Fabrication Employees, and Manufacturing Resources to projects and manages the scheduling thereof
-- Prepares, reviews, and releases Manufacturing Directives based on customer SOW
-- Estimates materials based on Manufacturing Directives and submits BOM to Purchasing
-- Reviews third party engineering for prefabrication projects and optimizes engineering with manufacturing capabilities
-- Conducts the internal project hand off to Fabrication Employees to review and understand the project scope and requirements
-- Tracks job progress, labor hours, and resource utilization for each job, and collaborates with Data Analytics team
Project Operations
-- The Production Manager is responsible for controlling the flow of information from the Shop Office to the Shop Floor, and vice versa
-- Interfaces frequently with the Operations Director, Production Engineer(s), Quality Manager, and Supervisors regarding work in progress
-- Ensures that Supervisors monitor time tracking against budgets
-- Ensures that proper procedures are in place and enforced regarding the Design, Estimating, and Project Management
-- Assists the Operations Director, Quality Manager, and Supervisors in planning and executing
-- Periodically evaluate jobs in progress to ensure that the fabrication process complies with the above
Mechanical Engineering
-- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
-- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
-- Follows manufacturer's instructions and established procedures
-- Designs, develops, installs or oversees installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment;
-- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
General and Human Resource Management
-- Works with HR to develop a training plan that provides a workforce adequate to meet the financial and operational goals of the company
-- Ensures that Supervisors and fabrication employees have the proper tools & resources to manage job performance
-- efficiently performs, control and report on the flow of labor and materials required to meet the company's productivity goals
-- Complies with the company's system of regular employee performance evaluations
-- Participates in the yearly 360 Performance Assessments of key employees
-- Maintains positive relationships with clients, vendors and the general business community
Requirements
-- Five to Seven Years of Sheet Metal fabrication experience, or equivalent
-- Minimum 5 years of light gauge steel roll forming and supervision experience
-- Strong prefabrication background, preferably in light gauge metal framing
-- Honesty, integrity and a strong desire to succeed
-- Excellent organizational and communication skills
-- Ability to deal tactfully with human issues with colleagues and customers
-- Ability to create and maintain cooperative team building relationships
-- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
