The company is currently seeking an experienced and proficient professional to fill a position as Glass and Glazing Estimator to prepare bid proposals for private and public projects, and to collaborate with other estimators. The job requires all stages of project bidding: determining Union requirement, determining bid schedules, reviewing job specifications, visiting job sites, attending pre-construction meetings, reviewing contracts maintaining bid process schedules, communicating bid status, choosing best options for systems/materials, soliciting and reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotes, performing, labor reviews, maintaining bid spreadsheets, negotiating work with various clients.


Responsibilities


--Preferably a minimum of 3 years prior experience estimating mid-size glazing projects from architectural drawings and specifications

--Need to have good working knowledge of fabrication and installation to have good understanding of customer needs

--Background in the use of estimating computer programs to provide estimates of glazing

--Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, phones, prioritize workload &    work with minimal supervision

--Must have full knowledge of architectural sketches and produce in-depth take-offs and estimates that include multiple curtain wall solutions

--Strong understanding of glass and other infill options as well as their applications

--Must be able to communicate effectively & maintain professional conduct, excellent written & verbal communication skills

--AutoCAD/Bluebeam system experience is a plus.


Requirements


--Compile job cost estimates for project bidding, and developing corresponding budgets, and workflow timetables.

--Ability to read Engineer, Architecture and Fabrication drawings, along with interpreting/explaining contracts to others

--Relationship with vendors, project architect, CGC resources, and general contractor

--Read and interpret blueprints for a job. Able to determine from plan CGC’s scope of work and materials needed.

--Set-up contracted jobs, ensure the correct product as specified for the job.

--Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels.

--Respond to any change Bulletins in the scope of work or RFIs.

--Review and prepare proposals for new work.

--Attend to pre-bid and scope review meetings.

--Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence, and other project-specific information.

--Maintain product knowledge of current and prospective vendors/manufacturers.
