Client is a specialty commercial contractor in glass, glazing and architectural metals and operates branches in southwest United States. They are one of the nation's top glazing contractor and have been in business over 60 years

Summary

Prepares bid proposals for private and public projects from small to large scopes

Responsibilities

-- Determine Union requirements, insurance, bonding needs, warranties, safety requirements etc.
-- Prepare appropriate RFI’s concerning all scope and related issues
-- Determine project funding, other competitors and suitability for Company in general (scope, location etc.)
-- Visit job site, determine logistics for installation, attend pre-construction meetings
-- Perform material take offs; discuss difficulty of installation with superintendent
-- Solicit quotations from vendors and subcontractors; include all project particulars in the quote, e.g. extended warranties; review quotes for
     accuracy
-- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers
-- Negotiate price and terms with customers
-- Get estimate for shop drawings from CAD manager
-- Determine project schedule; determine durations for our scope
-- Prepare bid proposal
-- Presentation of bids to clients as needed
-- Build and maintain relationships with highly rated customers, architects, suppliers and make sure they receive extraordinary treatment and
      respect at all times

Qualifications

-- Understanding of Windows OS
-- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
-- Able to read architectural drawings and other blueprints
-- Able to do accurate take offs
-- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra and geometry
-- Knowledge of machines and tools used in construction
-- Knowledge of materials used in the glazing industry
-- Able to communicate clearly with contract administration and CAD department
-- Able to lead and stay calm under pressure
-- Knowledge of Eos Estimating Program

Education

-- Minimum of 3 years experience in the glazing industry
