Summary

The hiring company is an industry leader, specialty contractor for the Building Envelope. This position is responsible for reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, preparing various panel systems shop drawings, drawing and programming light gauge metal panel drawings for cold formed steel rolling and assembly

Responsibilities

-- Shop Drawing preparation and submittals
-- Panel fabrication drawing derived from approved shop drawings or architectural drawings, as applicable
-- Structural design and evaluation of prefabricated light gauge panels, using FRAMECAD or similar software
-- Coordination of light gauge engineering with 3rd party professional engineers
-- Machine programming of Cold Formed Steel Roller for panel layouts and fabrication from fabrication drawings
-- Convert field dimensions provided via field crews or 3D scan methods into fabrication drawings
-- Create/Coordinate/Maintain BIM models throughout project duration as needed
-- Create as-built drawings post project completion via BIM models or other sources as needed
-- Material estimates for fabrication of light gauge steel panels, based on approved shop drawings
-- Material tracking through FRAMECAD software
-- Coordination of efficient transport and hoisting into place of prefabricated panels

Requirements

-- BA/BS in Architecture or technical equivalent field.
-- 5 years of drafting experience
-- Advanced construction realm experience
-- Knowledgeable of Light Gauge Steel Framing sizes and specifications
-- Computer skills, including AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, MS Office, and Adobe CS
-- Honesty, integrity and a strong desire to succeed
-- Excellent organizational and communication skills
