Things

Our Screened Porch - Yes, this could be filed under our 'places' category but since we had to build it...we'll call it a 'Thing'.

We are heavy in our pollen season so we have not yet begun to full enjoy the porch but it won't be long.  Of all the places on planet Earth that I enjoy visiting, this has to be at the very top.
No doubt, my favorite app ever when it comes to amount of time used.

If you are unfamiliar with Spotify, it is a music, podcast, and video streaming service that launched in 2008.  Spotify is a freemium service; basic features are free with advertisements or limitations, while additional features, such as improved streaming quality and music downloads, are offered via paid subscriptions.  I gladly pay the monthly fee to avoid the ads.

One of my favorite features of Spotify is the ability to create playlists, follow others and their playlists.  So, if you want to listen to the Billboard top 100 songs of a particular year, look for me on Spotify...I have done the 'heavy lifting' and created such lists for the years 1977 - 1992.

My favorite time of the year...when the months have 'R's' because this means oyster season!

Born and raised, at least for the first seven years of my life, on the gulf coast, I was weaned on the fine culinary delights that were born in the ocean.  Chief among these for me are raw oysters.   No Tabasco, cocktail sauce, lemon, crackers, just pure, delectable, salty mouthfuls of Heaven.

Pat Conroy pretty much nails it here with the exception of the geographical difference:

To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open you an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, "There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood." ~ The Prince of Tides
